Any Questions #395: "Crossword Clues 2"

WAMC's Ian Pickus and resident quizzer Mike Nothnagel celebrate the American Crossword Puzzle Tournament this weekend in Stamford, Conn.Last week's challenge
Start with the phrase DOMAIN NAMES. Add a letter and you can spell the seven-letter last name of a U.S. president and the five-letter last name of a painter. What are the names?
Answer: If you add a T, you can spell MADISON and MANET.

On-air questions: This weekend is the annual American Crossword Puzzle Tournament in Stamford, Connecticut. Held every year since 1978, the ACPT is directed by New York Times crossword editor and Weekend Edition puzzlemaster Will Shortz, and attracts hundreds of solvers from across the country and around the world. In honor of the 42nd ACPT, I've brought some crossword clues. I'll give you three clues that have all been used in the New York Times crossword and you tell me what word they have all clued. As a hint, each correct answer will be a six-letter word beginning with A, as in "annual."

1. Scully and Mulder, for two / 99 and 86, on "Get Smart" / Ballplayers' representatives
2. Relay team member / It might prevent you from drifting off / Diane Sawyer, for one
3. Artemis's twin / Program begun under Kennedy / One of Rocky's rivals

Start with the words AGENTS and APOLLO. Change one letter to an E and you can spell the six-letter name of a city in Italy and a six-letter word for a food often eaten in Italy. What are the words?
